It's a good thing I don't bet! I would have lost this one - except if I had bet against myself... The day after my last post I came down with a rotten cold. I thought it might be allergies because it made me SO SLEEPY! But a couple days later one of the kids caught my "allergy."
So I'm going to have to figure out something else for teacher gifts because there AIN'T NO WAY I can make 7 bookmarks before school is out, especially after I waved my complification (I'm pretty sure Mr. Webster meant to include this word in the dictionary, but just forgot) wand over the project. Many people are into simplification, but not me in crafting matters anyway. I had planned on making a very pretty, but much simpler bookmark. I found my backstitch to be a little rusty though and thought the spiral roses were too pointy. My inner Monk would not allow this deficiency, so I went back to the drawing board.
I found a couple vintage embroidery patterns (Superior #125) on doe-c-doe which I like a lot. I love the daisy stitch and french knots and these patterns have plenty of both. So I printed them out and put them on the light box and came up with a bookmark pattern. I am enjoying stitching it up. It has been YEARS since I did any embroidery. I guess when it comes down to it, I just love having a project going, be it quilting, sewing, tatting, embroidery etc... Color and texture are common to them all and I guess that is all I need to be a happy crafter.

I've been reading through some of your entries ... loved the cake (and am SO SORRY that I didn't call on your birthday!! Happy belated!!!!).
And LOVE the spider web picture frame .... even if you didn't think it was the perfect web. It's beautiful. I love seeing how creative you are!! Your mom is so proud! She must be making Jim watch everything you're making (not sure if he's excited about that!).

Thanks for popping in and the nice compliments! Yeah, I changed to Nifty Needle because that was a store Mom and I spent a lot of time and money at. If she and Jim are watching, I can just imagine him saying, "Has she heard of places called stores?" He loved to yank my chain! :)

No, that's not my REAL voice you hear tonight. I'm getting over a cold so I don't usually sound like Kim Carnes - Pip the Mighty Squeak would probably be a better description of my usual singing voice. :)

Ann, Just read this. I wish I could find another pair of these. They were a gift from a stranger - story is hidden on my blog - tag - scissors. I LOVE them. I'm pretty sure they are Japanese. Fox
