I love the colors of the dots on this fabric. I got it with Groovy Girl in mind, but I'm starting to think I might like it for myself. It just makes me smile. So does the edging I'm tatting for a dress for Baby Doll. It is my #3. (edging 1, Tatting for Beginners 1, by Nettie Lou Stafford Shipp) I can't wait to add my own touches to the little dress I have planned for her!
I have always liked dots. In fifth grade my mom made me a red dotted blouse to go with a blue striped jumper. I LOVED that outfit! When I was in high school, she made me my favorite robe EVER. It was a powder blue with narrow white stripes and the cuffs and trim were the same blue with dots. Mom got her first Grand Champion at the county fair with that robe! I believe my red and blue ensemble won a blue ribbon! Yes, I wore many award winning clothes. But they didn't need an award to make them special, that was just the way Mom made them.

That is so cool how you ended up using this on the darling dress for Baby Doll! So very cute! :)
Thanks! I just thought I would try tatting an edging to practice adding thread when I emptied my shuttle. I really liked it and decided to use it for the dress I had cut out for the baby. I made enough to go around the bottom of the dress also, but decided against it in the end. I'll use it for something else later. I haven't cut my thread yet so it will be easy to make it longer if I need to.
