(tatted edging #83 from The Tatted Artistry of Teiko Fujito,
One little dolly will be sleeping well tonight! After a color change, a few weeks dawdling over other projects and then some hand and machine stitching, her pillow is done and DONE!!!
(finished sizes: pillow 4.5"x7.5", case 5"x9")
I went for an old fashioned look and used blue ticking for the pillow. The case has french seams (ooh la la) so hopefully it will survive being stuffed and unstuffed by Baby Doll.
Baby Doll was VERY excited and promptly trotted off with the new bedding to put her dolly to sleep!
So WHY are you STILL AWAKE, little missy?
OH, I SEE I SAY!!! Yes, while it IS a LOVELY ensemble, it would be QUITE impossible for me to sleep in those clothes also! Give me a little time... or perhaps allot... just don't go all Bride of Chucky on me if I take a bit... and I will make you a nightie fit for the little, plastic, doll princess that you are!

What a lucky doll - and it's extra special tatting with your embroidery added - I love it! Your handwork is wonderful - you come up with such great ideas to incorporate embroidery into tatting and crochet. Will the nightgown match the pillowcase?
Divine! What a beautiful job you did - the edging is so delicate.
Now, about that doll; we have to talk. I could not be in the same room with those baby blues for more than a minute.... How do kids grow up normally with that kind of spooky.... you know! LOL!
Love the new page also. Very spiffy.
Fox : )
Thank you Cindy! Right now I'm thinking about yellow for the nightgown, but also have some pretty pink dotted fabric... so I guess I don't really know yet.
Hey Fox! Thanks! Hadn't really thought about it, but she does have a piercing gaze. Maybe that is why I am so desperate to close those eyes! lol

Lucky dolly! That pillow is adorable -- love the ticking and also the way you carefully planned and executed the embroidered details with the tatting -- very clever indeed.
Oh, she definitely needs a nightie and I'm thinking maybe a little quilt. What color do you think she might like?
Thanks Martha! I've slept on it and I'm still stuck on yellow - I think it will look good with her hair.
Funny you should mention a quilt! Baby Doll stood next to me as I put the finishing touches on the pillow yesterday. The pillow went straight from my hands at the machine to hers to be taken back to her room and put dolly to sleep. But before she headed out on her mission, she stuck out her hand and said, "Blanket." I THINK that was an order.

Tell Baby Doll not to worry -- a little yellow doll quilt will be coming her way soon from Washington.
Oh, Martha! You are TOO sweet!!!
