I coulda done
this little #41 MiniTat by Patti Duff better.
The center shoulda looked
like the top half and not the bottom,
and it woulda if
I had done the first join correctly.
Regardless,
this little regret
will be my #8 of The Challenge
and I'll just have to tat
Patti's clever pattern
all over again.
Poor me. :)

Oh .. don't feel bad about it. It looks quite pretty to me.
It will be so much easier the next time. For now, just stitch it on something with a beautiful button or bead in the center and you'll never have to think of it again!
Oh my, I just ordered that book a few days ago - looking forward to it arriving ; )
Thanks Jon!
You know how it is - SO VERY CLOSE! It's the first thing I've tatted in a while (been sewing) and I felt like a tatting amnesiac when I got to that first join. By the next one, I had recovered my memory and felt like a doorknob! I was really excited by how quickly it tatted up for me - I used to LABOR over these minitats!
Hey Gina!
You and I think alike, but you think better than I do! I repurposed it using some simple embroidery stitches to cover the boo-boo, but it would have been SOOO much cuter to use a button or bead as you suggested!
Hi Lelia!
You will LOVE this book! It is one of my "what to do now" go-to's.

The second time around always goes better :) I hate it when I'm thinking I'm pretty good and then realize that I biffed too far back to fix! I chalk it up as a 'practice' piece.
I would come tat it with you, if you thought having some company might help!
But I must agree with Jon and others, it looks quite pretty to me.
You coulda been easier on yourself.
You shoulda - because it looks great, in spite of a small memory lapse!
You woulda had it done in minutes if this had been the second tat, because Gina is right. The next time is always so much easier.

Hi Cindy!
It's funny because I knew right away that I had messed up, but kept going for practice thinking I would probably mess up somewhere else as well. Couldn't believe I made it the rest of the way! I'm going to do it again. It's a cool pattern and I really like the way the center looks.
Thanks Isdihara (aka Buffalo Gal)!
I welcome the company! We could tat by the light of the moon! :))))
You're too funny Fox!!! There will be a retat on this one - hopefully quicker and more accurate.
:) Ann
I think it looks good and I like the color! :)
Thank you God's Kid!

Wow -- I had to look really close at the center to see what you were talking about. I think it's so pretty, but if it really bothers you, I like Gina's bead or button idea.
If you do end up making another one, it would be interesting to see them side-by-side.
