When last we saw our heroine, Baby Doll, she had endured countless attempts of subterfuge by "Good" Mama to thwart her pursuit of a fine, embroidered, vintage linen, but had emerged from the antique mall victorious and clutching her prize.
"Good" Mama's feelings toward the vintage pillowcase which "didn't go" in Baby Doll's room softened on the drive home and she said to Baby Doll, "I'll just sew the end up and finish the pillowcase for you."
"No Mama, I want a dress!" exclaimed Baby Doll.
Today Baby Doll's dream came true.
The End

I like that! a pillowcase into a dress...genius.
Thanks Shannon! I really can't take credit for the idea of the pillow dress though. There are tutorials aplenty (although I made mine up as I went today) on the internet. And it WAS Baby Doll's idea - didn't even occur to me until she said it!
Thanks for popping by!
:) Ann
and see, it didn't even enter my mind until i saw it here. learn something new everyday
Very clever and VERY pretty too. Well done Baby Doll for insisting on a dress too!!!
I love it! No wonder she wanted it so badly. Beautiful embroidery!
Oh, Ann, it is so darling! I love it.
This reminded me of a friend I had a million years ago. In university, she was penniless and had no money for a wardrobe. She was a Kate Moss kinda gal who adored fashion.
One summer she hung around in a tiny mini-dress - high fashion at the time - that she had decorated herself with beads and a collage of other fabrics. The fabulous garment had begun its life as a plain white pillowcase. She cut out the armholes, the head. performed artistic license and voila!
Thanks for the great memory!
Fox : )
Absolutely darling as a dress! I would have never thought of that either. Baby Doll IS taking after Good Mama in the creativity department - great idea. The dress looks wonderfully cool for these hot summer days, too.
Good choice, Baby Doll. Your dress is beautiful! Good Mom did a great job.
Baby Doll has exquisite taste and a creative Mama.
Thanks everyone, from Baby Doll and me!

Hi Ann,
Just wanted to say thank you for leaving a comment on my blog.
I dare not show the picture of Baby Doll's dress to my little lady. I just wouldn't know what to do if she asked for a dress with a real embroidered lady on it! Baby Doll is lucky to have a clever Mama.
This is so precious! What a wonderful idea an so amazing that she thought of it. I bet she will grow up to be a great needlecrafter herself.
I just realized I missed this sweet post about Baby Doll's pillowcase dress. What an adorable dress, and I am so impressed that it was her own idea. I have several old embroidered cases I could make up for little Marjorie -- please tell Baby Doll thanks for the inspiration!
