The pieces of this puzzle called tatting are beginning to come together for me. It's very exciting for me to be able to look at patterns and understand where they begin, where they are going and how each ring, chain and picot fit into the finished piece.
Although I am not a speedy tatter, I have been making fewer silly mistakes, am beginning to gain confidence, and am becoming willing to stretch my hand further out to pick up new pieces to fit into the puzzle.
No doubt it will take me quite some time, if ever, to get the full picture of tatting, but then that is part of its allure...

I am still enjoying working out of Patti Duff's book, Minitats 69 Petite Motifs. The blue motif is #8, yellow is #22, and pink is #55.
Credits: The Tigger mosaic puzzle was completed by my oldest lovely daughter. These puzzles come with a poster of the completed work which acts as a sort of map in piecing it together because the tiny pictures comprising the mosaic are used repeatedly. That she finished it and two others like it is a testament to her perseverance, patience and perhaps boredom...

Pretty motifs! Everyone seems to love that "Minitats" book!
Ha Ha! Yes, I have noticed several people are working up minitats. For me they are a fun way to practice reading patterns and trying new skills without a huge time commitment, because at this stage in my tatting game, it is still touch and go sometimes. It's so fun though, and becoming more so the better I get!

I have not done the pink or yellow one. They are pretty.
That book is a joy, isn't it? I would not have tried the beading on anything more complicated or bigger..... The patterns are perfect me too!

Thank you Fox! I LOVE that book! All of the motifs are so pretty and I really enjoy seeing them come together.
I've been using Cebelia 30 thread, so my motifs are exactly the same size as the illustrations - that's helped me out a couple times when I lost my place in the pattern!

Ann...the little motifs are so beautiful and I love the colors you selected. It's fascinating to watch your progress in this delightful lace craft. The puzzle is amazing and so many pieces! Obviously, you and your daughter share those qualities of perseverance and patience.

Thank you so much for your encouragement! Each little thing I learn gives me a lot of enjoyment. I think the bow tie quilt has helped me learn patience - it does not come naturally for me. On the other hand, my daughter has an incredible amount of drive and determination which I suspect came from the other side of the family. :)
