Grab Bag

It's been a while since
I got the urge to sew.
That urge struck today
and shortly thereafter
I had a new bag
to tote my knitting in.

My pattern came from
a 2008 copy of
Fast and Fabulous Quilting Ideas
by Better Homes and Gardens.
The instructions are here.

I plan to make another, but think
I will shrink the size of the bag
and shorten the longer strap just a touch.
Yepper, that's the plan...

  1. Oh, how lovely!!!! What a pretty bag. I find sewing delightful - as long as the project doesn't take a long time to complete.

I'll have to peek at the bag pattern. Thx for sharing.

  2. Thanks Janine and Lelia!

It was a quick project. Only took a couple hours, and that included setting up the sewing machine and warding off kids.

  3. Very cute bag, and I might actually need to make one myself because today I am going to attempt to knit a pair of socks. I have my yarn, video, needles and enthusiasm, but it remains to be seen how it will all turn out. I haven't knitted anything since I was in my twenties, and I probably should have started with something easier, but I want socks! I am going to be thinking of you as I try to resurrect my pathetic knitting skills.

  4. Hi Martha!
Oh, I hope you're off to a great start on your socks! I KNOW you can do it - you make such beautiful things and don't shy away from a challenge. Socks were the first project I tackled too. It gave me so much confidence to finish them.
