I feel HONORED
that my blogging friend, Martha,
used an edging I tatted for her
a while back,
on the ring bearer's pillow
she created for her daughter's wedding.
The preparations for Emily's wedding
are
JOYOUS and colorful!
Martha has been busy working on
napkins for the guests,
and, most recently, the pillow.
It is DARLING - and you can see it HERE.
She and Emily are gathering
Depression glass table settings
for the reception.
How funny that I photographed
the edging with a couple of the pieces
Mom gave me years ago.
Colorwise, I think my set would work,
but since it is a childrens' tea set
I'm afraid some guests would be
disappointed with their portion size...
Needless to say, I am THRILLED
that something I created
will be part of such a
HAPPY OCCASION!
Oh, and I'm back. I haven't been far.
Just a case of life interrupting art.
That is so cool! I'd feel honored, too. And I love Depression glass. I have a few pieces of yellow in the Cameo pattern.
ReplyDeleteThat is an honor! I'm sure it will be a lovely wedding with all that Depression glass. I have two green dishes and one pink that I purchased at an antique mall years ago. I could have gone crazy, but it's one time when I showed restraint. What was I thinking?
ReplyDeleteAnn, The pillow is fantastic!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful keepsake for the newly-weds to have.
♥ Fox : )
I'm so happy you like the little pillow, Ann -- the lace is my favorite part. Also, I'm glad that you posted this photo again, because I had completely forgotten that it included some Depression glass. I love what you did with that photo.
ReplyDeleteThe librarian at the elementary school where I work (she worked there when Emily was a student) found 5 different sets of those miniature pink and green Depression dishes at a yard sale, and gave them to Emily to use at the wedding. They are so adorable, but you're right...the portions would be very small for guests.
P.S. I have about 5 inches left of the tatted edging, and I have a plant for that as well.
That would be a PLAN, not a plant!
ReplyDeletebeautiful! Isn't it wonderful... seeing your creations being used on something precious? I did an edging for a gal who used it to trim her "period" bonnet.
ReplyDeleteIt is so exciting!
