Tatting Press Pattern

The Tatting Press
I designed the Tatting Press as a way to keep my on-the-go AND in-the-home tatting projects neat, tidy and ready to tat when I was ready to tat.  No more tangled threads - I just pick up my tatting and start where I left off!

I am sharing the pattern here for your PERSONAL use.  Feel free to email me if there is something in the pattern which is unclear.  If you make a press and post about it, please link back to this post... and let me know!  I would love to see your press!

    Ann,

    How did you get a PDF uploaded in Google docs??

    I don't know how many times I've tried, but it never lets me!!

    Thanks for the pattern! When my sewing machine decides to cooperate I'm going to give it a try. Actually, the sewing machine and the iron are in cahoots and are conspiring to damage me when I go near them. It's going to require being sneaky -- maybe that pair Groucho glasses would work...

    OH NO! The word verification must be a message from the machines -- it says "killu". Scary.

    YEA! It's done and it's fabulous! You must be feeling pretty good about now. I also like the Google Docs trick -- I've never tried that, but it worked out really well.

    Dear, sweet Ann... how wonderful you are to share your pattern! I've saved the pattern to my computer, and I've printed it out in case I feel the urge to sew over the Christmas break.

    I love my tatting press, and I'm sure we will see many versions once the word gets out!

    My mind is completely blown away by this professional presentation! I haven't tried printing it out yet, but it sure looks fabulous.

    In the good old days, it would have taken a staff of people at a magazine to do all the drafting, photos, printing, etc. And you did this all by yourself, from thinking up the unique idea to begin with, to the skill you used to make them. Then you have so generously shared the pattern with us!

    I'm just as interested in how you accomplished this 'booklet' as I am in the tatting press itself. I have used Google Docs but find it rather limiting as far as doing drawings or inserting images - let alone doing a PDF file?

    Thank you so very much, and I certainly wouldn't apologize about not 'blogging'. This clever tatting press is very special gift to all tatters!

    What a wonderful idea! Now if only we hadn't thrown out all those old cd's when we cleaned the craft room. :) This will be first on my list of projects, after I finish making Christmas gifts.

    Your tutorials and hints are so helpful, even for a needle tatter like me. I found your link after making a tatting toolkit of my own after being similarly frustrated with twisted strings and such. It's not quite as polished as yours and I hope to use some of the principles you did to clean up my project for future ones.

    I am fairly new to needle tatting and have tinkered with it off and on for a long time. I like your idea for the tatting press for the shuttle tatters, do you think you could help with a case of some kind for the needle tatters?

    I would love to get to the pattern for your "Tatting Press". I've searched, googled and clicked on "Tatting Press" under your tutorials and every thing takes me to your Nifty Needles blog of December 9, 2010 and I can't get to the file for the "Tatting Press" pattern. Has it been removed or am I just too computer dumb?

    I believe the link was broken when changes were made to google docs. I believe it is fixed now.

    I can't seem to find the pdf file for the tatting press pattern on the toolbar. Did they ever fix the link? I think I can wing it from your excellent blog tutorial if it's permanently gone.
