Here Kitty, Kitty!

Here's a PEEK of something I am working on for Baby Doll.

It is FRESH from the hoop.

Pencil marks ABOUND and I see I missed a stem...

It is just the beginning of a little project
which will involve a bit of sewing and serging,
a little more embroidery,
as well as some GRATUITOUS TATTING...
but then, is it ever REALLY necessary to justify tatting?
GRACIOUS NO!

The design is part of a
posted by my blogging friend, Martha, at Q is for Quilter.

Instead of satin stitching the centers of the flowers,
I decided to use lazy daisy stitches and some French knots
because I thought it made the flowers look more like this one
which I photographed several years ago.

Thank you SO MUCH to everyone who has entered my
I've got to say it is even more exciting hosting a giveaway

And thank you for all the nice comments about the Tatting Press.
I hope whoever gets it will enjoy it.

  2. That is too cute. I really like the Laura Wheeler and Alice Brooks crochet patterns. There's quite a lot of their embroidery patterns on ebay.

It's hard to resist them whenever I come across one at a garage sale, antique shop, etc. I'd love to see the patterns for each craft compiled into a series of books. They're all so pretty.

  4. Ann, I love the way you did the centers with the French Knots and Lazy Daisy stitches, and your flower inspired colors are beautiful. I can't wait to see what you're making for Baby Doll.

  6. When I was a young child, each girl in the family got a little child sized quilt embroidered with kitties very similar to that one. We called them our kitty quilts and what remains of mine is upstairs in a box somewhere - looks so much like that!
